Superannuation is often overlooked or simply an afterthought in the estate planning process.
As the number of superannuation funds continue to rise and the assets held within these structures also increases, estate planning for superannuation has become an integral part of the process.
• Explore in detail the major estate planning consideration for SMSFs.
• Examine both the retail and self managed superannuation fund structure.
• The general approach to use binding death nominations as a fall back solution may not be the best solution for a number of clients, given the increase of more complicated family affairs and inconsistencies in trust deeds.
• Identify the opportunities available to you to enhance the estate planning strategies of your clients
