A practical guide to Change Management
This four session series provides guidance and tips on the essential elements of how to manage change effectively.
Each session focuses on defining concepts, understanding the key elements of the change process and useful tips on implementing successful change management programs and/or processes.

Series outline
At the conclusion of this series, delegates will be able to:
Identify the key reasons/drivers for change, and the catalysts of change
Define change management and why it is needed
Outline what makes change succeed and what makes change fail
Explain the essential elements to managing any type of change
Realise the benefits of planning, implementing and reviewing change as essential stages in managing change
Apply the tools and methodology for making change successful.
Session 1: Fundamentals of Change
An introduction to change management including defining change management, the reasons organisation change, key drivers for organisational change and an overview of the three essential stages to managing change within an organisation.
At the conclusion of this session, delegates will be able to:
Outline “What is change management?”
Explain the reasons organisations change and key drivers for change
Describe the three key stages of change management
Define what makes change successful
Assess if the organisation is “change ready”.
Session 2: Planning Effectively for Change
A more detailed look at the first stage of managing change effectively. Planning and preparing for change provides an insight as to why preparing for change is needed and the critical factors that will ensure effective planning is in place.
At the conclusion of this session, delegates will be able to:
Explain why preparing for change is essential
Determine whether the organisation is ready for the change
Articulate a future state – create a vision
Define the type of change and the level of planning required
Define sponsorship and understand who is needed to ensure managing change is successful
Develop plans that need to be place to support change
Apply tools and methodology to effectively plan for change
Effectively manage the risk and resourcing associated with the change
Identify key measures of successful change management.
Session 3: Successfully Implementing Change
A comprehensive overview of what is involved in successfully managing and implementing change. This session identifies the essential elements of communication and people management; how to identify and manage resistance to change; training; support and stakeholder management
At the conclusion of this session, delegates will be able to:
Explain the discipline involved in managing and implementing change management effectively
Effectively lead people through change and manage reactions to change
Implement a communications and engagement plan which keeps all stakeholders informed throughout the change
Implement strategies to minimise resistance to change
Identify issues early and put in place effective risk management processes.
Track and monitor the progress of change implementation.
Session 4: Reviewing and Evaluating the Impact of Change
An overview of the final stage in the change process. Reviewing and evaluating change looks at how to determine whether the change has been managed and implemented successfully. What are the measures of success? How is the change being reinforced? What should happen if the change objective has not been achieved?
At the conclusion of this session, delegates will be able to:
Explain the reasons for measuring the change effort.
Embed change within the organisation, reinforcing the right attitudes and behaviours.
Select and apply appropriate measures for evaluating the achievement of the future state/vision.
Document succinct and relevant reports regarding the change effort
Explain the importance of celebrating success and integrating change into business as usual.
