Now that you are responsible for managing a team, you will more than likely be responsible for conducting performance appraisals. Performance appraisals provide an opportunity for both the manager and team member to review the team member’s work, to set new goals and provide feedback on the team member’s performance.
Unfortunately, new managers can find performance appraisals difficult and may not be as effective as either party would like.
Session 5 of the New Manager series investigates the key components of a performance review including reviewing and setting KPIs, providing feedback and motivating team members, and will provide you with the tools you need to conduct meaningful and purposeful performance appraisals.
