The Fair Work Ombudsman’s office is responsible for promoting compliance with Australian workplace laws, and educating directors about rights and responsibilities under these laws.

In this session the Fair Work Ombudsman’s Chief Counsel Janine Webster will provide an update on the regulator’s work and will discuss how you can better protect yourself and your organisation against workplace relations litigation.

The session will give members:

  • Insight into the FWO’s expectations of business
  • An outline of the current focus of the FWO including the exploitation of vulnerable overseas workers, within supply chains and the franchising sector
  • Understanding of the liability of directors, HR and other managers for workplace contraventions
  • Practical guidance on how they might seek to avoid personal liability for workplace relations contraventions within the context of their roles

This webinar is particularly relevant to directors who oversee a supply chain and or franchise network.
