Session Overview

Welcome to "Ethics in Professional and Clinical practice". This is the first module in Speech Pathology Australia's on-line Ethics Education training. Developing ethical understandings and applying these to your practice requires ethical knowledge. This module will present you with a series of information bites which will present key content on slides. These are accompanied by a number of short video clips. At times, you will be asked to reflect, respond, and carry out an activity that may be undertaken individually or in a small group. You will also be invited to develop individual or departmental learning goals.

A series of support responses for each scenario will appear after the activity. These do not present a single "right" answer or a recipe for ethical practice but rather some suggestions to facilitate discussion and decision making.

What I will learn:

By the end of this workshop, the aim is that you should be able to:

  • apply the principles based framework, and
  • develop pro-active strategies to facilitate ethical behaviour
