Debbie Ghuliani

Debbie joined the tax training industry after 13 years in Corporate tax at a Big 4 CA practice. Her high level of tax consulting experience and lively personality have combined to ensure that clients receive an informative yet entertaining training session.

Debbie has practical experience in dealing with tax issues affecting many industries, particularly manufacturing, telecommunications and resources. Debbie also has significant experience in relation to international tax matters resulting from her 1 year secondment to the M&A division of the London office of the Big 4 CA firm where she worked. Debbie’s experience includes working as a Tax Director (Corporate tax) of a Big 4 CA practice (based in both Melbourne and London) and a Secondment (1 year) as Tax Manager to an Australian subsidiary of a global listed client of a Big 4 practice.

Michael Karavas

Michael Karavas

Michael is a Director with the ATO; his current role is in design and implementation of the Single Touch Payroll program.

Michael has over 25 years’ experience in tax administration, with most of the last 20 years focusing on the implementation on new Government initiatives including the Minerals Resource Rent Tax, Tax Consolidations as well as working on the ATO Change Program.

For the previous two years, Michael was seconded to the Treasury where he was the policy lead on the development of Single Touch Payroll.

Michael chairs the Single Touch Payroll Design Working Group which works collaboratively with a broad range of industry stakeholders on Single Touch Payroll design issues.

Robyn  Jacobson, FCA, FCPA, CTA, Reg. Tax Agent

Robyn Jacobson is well known in tax training circles, having been a professional tax trainer for 22 years and a regular conference and webinar presenter.

With more than 25 years experience in the profession, Robyn has a public practice background. Her training roles include Webb Martin then as sole director of her own business, Cyntax Pty Ltd, before its merger with TaxBanter in 2011. Based in Melbourne, Robyn continues to be a highly regarded tax trainer, providing training through TaxBanter.

Robyn is a Fellow of both CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Chartered Tax Adviser of The Tax Institute and a Registered Tax Agent.

She is the Chair of CPA Australia’s Victorian Public Practice Committee, Co-Chair of The Tax Institute’s Victorian Women In Tax Committee and a member of The Tax Institute’s Victorian Professional Development Committee. Robyn regularly consults with The Treasury, the ATO and the professional bodies on technical issues, and has been involved in ATO consultations on Single Touch Payroll for 3 years.

Robyn is an avid advocate, social media commentator, blogger and host of TaxBanter’s popular podcast Tax Yak.

Veronica Doody
Veronica has 30 years of specialist tax experience dealing in a wide range of income tax and indirect tax matters. She has a vast range of experience from tax training, consulting and business services as well as senior management and technical roles with the ATO.
 
Her specialist tax training includes in house training to small, medium and Big 4 firms, as well as direct consulting and business advice, which has enhanced both her technical knowledge and practical experience. She has also been a regular presenter in public conferences.
